Hello, my name is Andrea, and I'd like to welcome you to my travel blog. I'm not sure how you ended back here, but I'm grateful you did. So just hang out with me for a while if you want to know more about me.

I’m a 40-year-old Croatian from the Zagreb region, the country’s capital and largest city. I’ve been living and working abroad for the past eight years.

How it all began...

I was a professional athlete once upon a time…

Several decades of rigorous training and years spent away from home, primarily in Germany, where I competed in the Bundesliga.

My resume includes numerous European and World Championships, two Olympic Games, medals, trophies, and a Bachelor’s degree in Fitness.

Oh, yeah, I played table tennis, or Ping Pong as it is often called.

I used to be a huge sports fan when I was younger. Well, if I’m honest, I still am. But, above all, I loved traveling.

Traveling is simple when you’re a professional athlete. It goes with it.

Why Blogging?!

I believe I have accumulated a great deal of knowledge about how to arrange a trip over the years.

At least, my family and friends think that I have.

What to pack for your travels and how to prepare for a specific type of trip. Most importantly, how to select the appropriate travel gear.

As a professional athlete for over two decades, I’ve been fortunate to travel a lot. Still, I’ve never had enough time to fully experience the beauty of all the places/countries I’ve visited.

Now I’m on a mission to go back and revisit them all, add some new ones, and, ideally, climb their highest peaks.

Why Solo Traveling?!

I was tired of waiting for people to find time or money and, more importantly, to share my passion.

I felt like I was wasting chances to do what I truly wanted to do, which was to travel.

One day, I finally decided to take the plunge! Solo travel, here I come!

And trust me when I say that choice was the smartest I’ve ever made!

And trust me when I say that choice was the smartest I’ve ever made!
I learned how much I like not being concerned about other people’s daily schedules or moods. But, of course, since I was my own boss, I didn’t have to make any compromises.

I honestly believe that with the proper planning and preparation, a woman can travel securely and freely to practically any place in the world on her own.

You’ll never know unless you give it a shot!

The Challenge!

Last year, I decided to take on the “Seven Summits Challenge” and climb the highest mountains on each continent.

I discovered not too long ago that hiking is my favorite thing to do on vacation.

There is something distinctive about it. You get a unique perspective on the world below you when you’re high up on a mountain and stare down at the clouds.

Peace and quiet, with nothing to worry about except taking deep breaths and enjoying the environment are all you need to experience this feeling of calm and tranquillity.

That’s primarily due to exhaustion, and while you can’t think of anything else to do except to eat and snuggle into your sleeping bag.

No, but seriously, it’s like you’ve landed on another planet.

The “Seven Summits Challenge” won’t be accomplished in the next several years.

It’s a ten-year strategy. Learning your physical and mental limitations requires years of practice in the mountains.

That is something I am aware of. However, I’m not in a hurry either.

While I’m working toward that goal, I’m not going to stop enjoying the other wonders that mother nature has to offer.

Visiting different cultures, meeting locals from all around the world, and seeing the world through their eyes.
